Description: Semisynthetic compound; X8 is a p-dimethylamino pyridine-derivative of xanthone; potentiates neomycin (4-fold reduction in MIC); reduces bacterial load (E.coli, P. aeruginosa, or mixed infection) by 2.5~3.5 log CFU in murine wound infection when in combination with neomycin; shows no antibacterial activity alone
